Updated COVID 19 Policy- WE ARE OPEN

Following the Sonoma County Shelter in Place Order, we are no longer allowing clients to come into our building as of Wednesday 4/8/20.  Social distancing is scientifically proven to be one of the most effective methods to slow the transmission of communicable disease such as COVID-19 (corona virus) and as such, we are taking steps to ensure that our staff follows the recommendation to keep a distance of at least 6 feet away from another person as much as possible while still providing quality care for your pets.  Veterinary care falls under the category of “essential business” and our aim is to stay open for the duration of the order as long as we are healthy enough to provide service.

Current Protocol:

1) When you call to make your appointment, one of our receptionists will take down basic information on the nature of your pet’s illness and will ask you questions about your pet’s general health.

2) When you arrive at our parking lot, if you have a cat in a carrier, please call us at (707)894-3951 and let us know that you have arrived and one of our veterinary technicians or assistants will come to your car to receive your pet to bring him/her into the building.  If you have a dog, please take your dog out of the car and stand next to your vehicle with him/her.  If you have a cat, our technician will remove that cat carrier from your car. Please be patient and be aware that wait time may be 15-30 minutes.  Please don’t be concerned about the mask and gloves our staff will be wearing.  They are a precaution to keep our clients and staff as safe and protected as possible.

3) One of our doctors will examine your pet in our hospital and will then call you with exam findings and recommendations for work up and/or treatment.

4) Once a diagnostic and treatment plan has been made, you will be placed on hold and one of our receptionists will take payment over the phone if you’re paying by credit card.  If you’re paying by cash or check, they will give you the amount and our tech or assistant will collect payment at your car.

If you are in need of pet food or a medication refill, please call ahead so we can have your food or medication ready.  When you arrive in our parking lot, please call us.  Our receptionist will take payment over the phone if you’re paying with a credit card or our technician or assistant will take cash or check when they bring your item out to your car for you.

We realize that this protocol may seem impersonal and it’s not the way we prefer to do business, but we find these to be necessary precautions in these trying times.  Please be patient as we adjust to these unusual challenges.  We’re dedicated to continuing to work hard to serve our community through this crisis.
