Dr. Biery graduated from UC Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine in June 1980 after obtaining a B.S. degree in Animal Science at UCD in 1976. After graduation Dr. Biery, a California native, spent 14 months doing an internship at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, Mass. Angell provided an intensive educational experience balancing practical experience in medicine and surgery with additional classroom education. Ed’s next stop was at a busy ten doctor practice in Thousand Oaks, Ca. In 1984 Dr. Biery purchased the Animal Hospital of Cloverdale.
Ed and his family have resided in Cloverdale ever since that time. Both of Ed’s children went through the Cloverdale school system. Ed’s family has had a multitude of pets over the years, many of which were adopted from the Animal Hospital. Currently his dogs are Charlie, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel that came from Cloverdale and Gracie, a Chihuahua cross that was a stray adopted from the hospital.
Ed has seen the Animal Hospital grow from a one-doctor, two employee practice to a busy multiple doctor practice. Many things have changed over that time, the quality of medicine has improved with the times, but the care and compassionate tone he set then has not changed. Dr. Biery’s special interests are surgery and ophthalmology.
In his spare time Ed enjoys reading, camping and long walks with his family and dogs.

Greetings Cloverdale, my name is Kala, My family and I recently moved here from the small town of Cazadero, where I grew up. I have a wonderful husband, Ryan, and two beautiful daughters, Morgan and Trinity. We have two dogs, Bailey and Sheila, who we adopted from the Sonoma County Humane Society, as well as two cats, Buzz, who was born the night after my oldest daughter Morgan, and Carmella who we took in as a semi-feral kitten. I had the privilege of beginning my career at the Humane Society alongside my husband as a Kennel Technician, where I had the opportunity to advance to Veterinary Assistant, and Receptionist. I also worked as a Veterinary Assistant for PetCare Animal Hospital where I was able to broaden my experience as a nurse, while attending classes at the S.R.J.C. In my spare time I enjoy entertaining friends and family, making jewelry, gardening and going on day trips to the ocean and spending time with my family.
